The Truth

by ephemera   Feb 12, 2007

Do you ever wish you could rewind?
Relive those sacred moments in time.
But that's not for us to decide,
So we go on living our lives.

I never had much luck in love,
Quit searching and finally gave up.
That's when I began to see,
You are the one that I need.

And I'm barely getting by,
Caught in this desert, my soul gone dry.
I'm terrified of the truth,
I know that I still love you.

Should I take this risk and injure my pride?
To combat these demons that battle inside?
And would it matter to if you knew this,
You are the one person that I miss.

I feel this is one of your weaker poems. it doesnt have your usual style. and instead follows the 4 lines per stanza and simple rhyme scheme of nearly every poem on this site.
