Ode to May

by Kelsey Marie   Feb 12, 2007

Momma once told me
That friends come and go.
There are a select few
That will stick it through.

We've had our good times,
But lately all it has been is sorrows.
It must be now,
Take your bow.

You've hurt me too much,
You say I've hurt you.
This isn't the first time for this fight.
Why don't you just say goodnight.

You said I lied to you
When it came to my boyfriend.
I changed my mind about my feelings,
I'm like all beings.

And if that makes me a liar,
Then you're one too.
Count the times you said you two were done,
All of it was just a pun.

You told me you like my ex-
Four days after we ended.
You say you don't mean like him.
Then why did you kiss him?

You say I hurt you,
But you hurt me.
More than what I can say,
In this ode to May.
