Mommy's at the bar, Daddy's in jail. When mommy comes home, Her breath smells Stale. Mommy's drunk, She starts to yell. Mommy isn't happy, I can always tell. I pick up Chris, I grab Duane. We run and hide, I don't want them to feel more pain. We find a creek, Behind our home. I let Duane play, But tell him not to roam. It's getting dark, We have to go. I hide them under the bed, And tell them to stay low. Mommy wakes up, She comes after me. I know what's coming, But I stand as still as a tree. Mommy gets mad, I refuse to tell her where the boys hide. Mommy hit me so hard, That I cried.
