Rain Changes Everything

by Kait   Feb 13, 2007

Rain is pelting my window,
Forcing me to awaken at 4am.
The sun won't be up for hours.
I get out of bed and cross the room to look out the window.
The rain is calming.
It's so loud but, drains the sounds of my troubled mind.
I pull on some clothes and climb out my window onto my roof.
I just sit there and close my eyes.
My face is towards the sky.
Rain just takes away everything that has happened.
Rain drops roll down my face like freshly shed tears.
Only, I am not crying.
A smile slowly forms on my face.
I finally look down and begin to realize what is happening.
The rain has cleansed me of my pain.
Steam seems to be rising off my skin.
But, it's only my imagination.
I am soaking wet.
And, each drop that hits me is like a brand new day.
I never knew that the rain could change everything.
