A Cold Memory

by Paige   Feb 13, 2007

She's out cold like a frosty winter night
Her bloody wrists are proof she's paid her price
No longer forced to hear her parents fight
Lies still on her bedroom floor, cold as ice
Unable to handle this stressful pain
No light shall shine on her death-bed today
There's no happiness, no more hope to gain
There are no more words left for her to say
Like a dead rose in a bush full of dreams
She feels hopeless and useless to the world
She cries out loud, but no one hears her screams
She stood watching as her whole life unfurled
They'll remember her name forever more
As the girl who's life was nothing but war
