Summer Love Lost

by Paige   Feb 13, 2007

She dreams of his perfectly chiseled face
His soft brown eyes, his short dark hair
His muscled body, and his steady pace
Every thought leaves her gasping for air

His image is still fresh in her mind
As if it were just yesterday that they had met
That they had walked together, fingers intertwined
Walking along the shore, hem of her jeans getting wet

To him, her heart will always belong
Even after all this time's gone by
Her love for him still lives strong
But something's wrong, he's told a lie

Five months its been, and still no call
No word on how he's been, or where he is
She's beginning to wonder if he loved her at all
She gave him her heart, he gave her his

That fateful day they said their good-byes
He whispered three words in her ear
"I love you" he said through muffled cries
He held her close, as she shed a tear

But now our summer is but a memory
Wasted tears and wasted time
He probably doesn't even remember me
Stealing another's heart should be a crime
