If I Could Only...

by marilyn marti   Apr 5, 2004

If I could only tell you how I feel.
So the past is a reflection of what's real.
You would see how I used to be,
but I've lost the real me.

I could give you the sky, the world.
Show you I've grown up from a little girl.
You would see I'm alright,
I would sleep awake at night.

If I could give you a true conclusion.
Then you would say it's all an illusion.
And maybe It'd be okay,
but maybe it's too late.

If I could make you open your eyes.
Who you are is who you despise.
You could finally accept your pretty face,
something mascara cannot replace.

If I could pay you back for all you did,
and tell you how hard it was to live.
Life is not that long,
maybe one day I won't be wrong.

If your time is running slow,
and you got no place to go.
Then you'd push the pain aside,
abandon all the demons inside.

If you'd give it all you got,
left me in hell so I could rot.
I can't leave my wings behind,
my heart is not as blind.

If I could only tell you how I feel.
So the past is a reflection of what's real.
You would see who I used to be,
I've finally found the real me.
