Family Rejection

by dying from the inside out   Feb 14, 2007

Am I jealous?
Am I scared?
Am I hurt?
Yes, yes, yes

My mum is rejecting me,
For another girl my age,
Pain is running through my vein's,
At the sight of them together,
I don't get along well with this girl.

I don't have a clue,
On where I went wrong,
A lifetime of memories,
Flash before my eyes,
Been loved for fourteen years.

Now I fell rejected,
And sad, every time she calls,
My mum, her mum,
I cry at night knowing,
I get pushed away every night.

I hope this pain,
Won't last a lifetime,
Or even a few years,
As my heart,
Can't cope with any more

There are two way to,
Stop this horrid pain,
The easy way, or,
The hard way,
I think I'll take the easy way.

I rock in my room thinking,
About the easy way,
I then stick the cold barrel,
To the temple of my head,
But then I freeze.

I'll sort it out with mum,
How it should be done,
I have a lot to live for,
And life is short enough,
As it is.

A few months have been,
My life is better and I owe,
It all to my family,
They might hurt me but,
They forgive me for that.

Ten years have past and,
Mum still apologizes for,
What she did so long ago,
To her only real daughter.

It's hard watching somebody step into your place, you feel like your not what matters anymore. I'm glad you handled the situation like an adult. Great poem 5/5
