My Cloud

by Zach-E   Feb 15, 2007

I dream this night
And think of the day
When a fluffy cloud
Made the world less gray.

On this day when
The birds refused to sing,
It helped ease the pain,
And quell its sting.

I lost my cares
In a sea of white,
A skyward mountain
Bathed in heavenly light.

So kind and inviting
It seemed to me,
That I was released
And my soul set free.

To fly amongst
Its cushioned mass,
To enjoy its beauty
More with every pass.

I snuggled in
Its warm embrace,
And into my pillow
I pressed my face.

And for a while
I felt pure bliss,
My lips caressed
In a heavenly kiss.

And at this time
The world stood still
As the dust atop
A window sill.

Yet I was always aware
It could not last,
As times of joy
Always go by too fast.

And I was saddened
By its westward flight,
Which eventually carried
My friend out of sight.

Back into my body
My soul was returned,
Though not empty handed
To love I had learned.

And to this day
I still look towards the sky,
In the hopes of seeing,
My friend by and by.

But I do not see
The cloud I once knew,
Although I do see others
In numbers not too few.

Maybe one day,
I'll see it again,
My feelings rekindled
By a love, a friend.

Absolutely Stunning. This was an amazing description of an out of body experience. It was precious in the fact it was as beautifully penned and painted a vivid picture in my mind of it playing out. This poem is just another reminder why you are on my favorites list.

Memories are the most sacred possesion any person has. You make this clear in your poem. Great Job.
