Just read back through my mail
Funny how things can change so quick
It seemed like you were keen
Or did I get the wrong end of the stick?

I didn't see it to begin with
I thought you were just playing with me
Then the mail grew more intense
And your words were full of honesty

You made me feel so alive
I was reborn when you came home to me
You set my soul on fire
But my spirit was trapped from being free

When I looked into your eyes I knew
You loved me, you didn't need to say
It meant the world to me to know
I loved you and you felt the same way

But now I sit and wonder
How it could be, what really drove us apart
How can you say you love someone
If its not from the bottom of your heart

How could you say the things you said?
That you wanted us to always be together
All the promises you made were broken
Like when you said this could be forever

You told me too late I guess
Id done wrong as far as in your eyes
I didn't really want to lie to you
But you kind of took me by surprise

All the mail you sent forgotten
I was scared of how it would make you feel
What happened - happened
Back then I didn't know your love was real

Now you say you can't trust me
But you know that's not strictly true
Id never hurt you now because
I've fallen deeply in love with you

So now I sit and wonder
Will you come back and make a new start?
Cos you cant love someone
If it's not from the bottom of your heart
