Two Steps Ahead

by Jaime   Feb 16, 2007

There's an elephant in my room today,
I'm just trying real hard to ignore it.
But my mind is full, so right out on the table
Is the only place I have to store it.

Whether sugar-coated, or a living fairy tale,
I stall too much; I need you to decide.
I'm actually loving the line to this coaster,
Because I'm deathly afraid of the ride.

The blonde chick always gets hacked up first,
But the Hollywood flick has yet to begin.
I want to believe you can lead me through it,
There's just so many times I've seen Jason win.

I smile because you make me happy,
Yet, I cringe because I'm insecure.
It flows like a river; looks all pretty,
But you never can tell if the particles are pure.

But for now we're lucky; we make them jealous,
So rather than doubt the sacred plan,
Let's stick with this bond; no worries, no doubts,
And stay two steps ahead of the world while we can.
