The ear of the listener

The gift of communication,
causes mans frustration.
And the misunderstanding,
of syntactical content,
causes mans descent.
The tongue of the speaker,
with time gets weaker,
as the meanings of words,
depend on the listeners ear.

The spoken words,
arent the ones we hear.
The meanings meant,
just deter and bend,
people from each other.
Feelings are expressed,
in words whose,
definitions are guessed.
So does it matter,
which ones we choose,
when the former,
are as bad as the latter?

When definitions conflict,
its not due to the words picked,
but to those heard.
None of the sounds,
match the intent,
of the nouns.
The meaningful verbs,
become meaningless words.
And if everything means nothing,
how can anyone say something?

We continue the chatter,
which is only sound waves,
that hit the ear and patter.
The onus is not on us,
the speakers,
but them the listeners,
to give meaning to those waves.
So we may say a lot,
but these days,
it means nothing,
cuz the meaning is now,
in the ear of the listener.
