This Ship Has Sailed

by Sheree Speaks   Feb 16, 2007

She waved goodbye on a sunny harbor.
Staing blindly at the sea.
The man aboard that ship
Had been the loved she used to long to see.

The photographs flashed through her head
Then slowly faded away.
The man who gave her the love of poetry
Had vanished with the day.

Did she jump in after him?
No, because she tried before and failed.
He's gone, old news, away, a shadow.
It sppears this ship has sailed.

Very nicely done. Quite a saddnening tone.
Not sure if you're aware but you have a typo on the last line...I think there are some editing issues on the site at the moment though.
    Thanks for sharing.
