Green Eyes

Green eyes never lie,

But the person behind them does.

Who could have known that he was a liar?

And who could have known that he was going to break her heart?

I didn’t,

Nor did he.

I guess it happened all too quickly.

But will he ever be able to redeem himself?

And regain his pride?

Or just sit there pretending everything is alright?

For I do not know,

And nor does he.

She is her own person,

And so is he.

But maybe in time,

He can regain her trust,

And hopefully if he does he will not lose it.

Second chances is what she is about,

And if he blows it then she will know exactly what he’s all about.

Green eyes never lie.

But the mouth speaks falsies.

And when she looks into his eyes, they will not lie

But only tell me things that they want me to see.
