Ode' to a lost on-line friend

I close my eyes and I remember my friend
Who met with me each day on-line
We played games and talked for hours
Like we've known each other for years

He seemed to know me so well
And I knew him, or thought I did
I woke each day to see him
And dreamt of him each night

Now he is gone and I don't know why
He never comes back on-line
I wait each day to see him log on
But he never does

I blame myself
For getting to attached
To a man I will never meet
And wish I had never met him
