Sacrifices

Staring at your picture hanging on the wall
Gazing upon your handsome face
Your brown eyes sparkling so brightly
No one could ever take your place

Remembering how it always made me smile
Your mustache twitching when you'd grin
The look that always melted my heart
My love you never failed to win

Seeing all the things I miss about you
The grey just starting to show in your hair
Wishing you were still here for me to touch
We had so many years still to share

Trying to figure out the meaning of it all
Looking at the image of the one that I miss
All I know is loneliness since your gone
Longing to feel the passion from your kiss

The answer to this I will never know
The sadness still lingers in the air
Hanging over me like a dark cloud
This life I live just seems so unfair

Then I look again at your smiling face
Thanking God for bringing you into my life
How lucky I was to have had your love
Even with all we both had to sacrifice
