I'm a soldier

by chamorrican06   Feb 17, 2007

I'm a soldier he said standing up tall with a big smile on his face he hid it all.
He was scared of the war, he was scared of his fate, he was scared of the guns and the hand grenades.
The happy memories he once knew faded as each day passed hoping that each day his life would last.
His faith in god was slowly going with his wife far away and his little baby growing
Each day he would pray, yet never knowing, if the big man upstairs would let him last
But this sad tragedy came to an end on a cold Saturday evening
What is left is unknown, a wife without a husband, and a baby with a dad she'll never know
What is going on in the world, the war makes no sense this it what happens many families broken then it comes to an end
