I Wonder What They Will Think

by Brandon   Feb 17, 2007

What is the meaning of shame?
Oxford dictionary says shame is a feeling of great
sorrow or guilt because you have done wrong.
So why do people feel ashamed although they haven't
done anything wrong?

Over the years the meaning of the word shame
made a vast change
Nowadays, people don't feel ashamed because they
did something wrong,
They feel ashamed because they let other people's
opinion alter their lives.

Think about it!
The reason why someone would buy an expensive
car or an expensive house is to impress others.
They do this because they don't want to feel
ashamed or embarrassed.

Think about it in this aspect;
If you were the only human being on planet earth,
would you buy expensive cars and clothes?,
would you be ashamed because of your financial
status?,
No! you wouldn't be ashamed because there is no one
for you to impress which means embarrassment would
be impossible.

Life has many gifts to offer,
and to reveal these gifts, one must achieve three
goals.
The three goals must achieve are putting their self
pride behind them, working hard toward their
dreams and to be kind.

People should learn to live life to make themselves
contented, not others.
After all, you were born by yourself and you will
eventually die by yourself,
so it doesn't make any sense spending your limited
time to impress someone else.
