It ain't about fireworks it's about revolution

by Independence Forever   Feb 19, 2007

I'm sick of all drama, built around fireworks today
didn't you know it was revolution that gave us this way?

it was not the sound of crackle, but the boom of cannon fire
for while you play with sparklers, our nation's need was dire

Adams, Jefferson, and Washington, fighting to the bitter end
they only cared about freedom, with Britain they lost many a friend

but now we play with our toys not knowing or i dare say caring
that our ancestors died for us, so that it would be toy guns we be sharing

when Francis Scott key wrote "the bombs bursting in air"
he wasn't writing about pretty little fireworks with it's flare

Lincoln, Roosevelt, Truman, our hero's do not end there people
and do not think they are limited to your lit up steeple

i fear we've forgotten, the dream is no more
but play with your fireworks, forget our bloody score

    Now this...this is amazing.
The meaning behind this piece was beautiful..imagery created was breathtaking, really created vivid pictures for me.

I thought the flow was good throughout except for "with britian lost many a friend."
It just sounds of to me. Maybe try With Britian, lost a friend?" or something similar?

But apart from that, this was beautiful.
