The Coloring Book

The Coloring Book
Look mom,my teacher colored a picture
In my new coloring book
But I think she didn`t do so good
I want you to take a look

You see all the children
She colored all of them white
When I ask her why
She just looked at me and smiled

I said where are the black ones
With ringlets in their hair
Where are the yellow kids
I`d like to see them there
And don`t forget my Spanish friends
Their skin a darkish gold

She didn`t look so happy then
She said I was rude and bold
I said I didn`t mean to be
But you colored everyone white
She said thats how its always been
And it is good and right

I said but these are my crayons
And this is a NEW coloring book
I want to see the future
With a much more colorful look

The mother smiled and said
I think were lucky too
That our world is filled with children
as colorful as you!

Aww, I love this one. I think, in a way, you're brave for doing one on this topic. Not a lot of people do, and I like that about this. Awesome work.
