Letting Go

It's so hard to sleep at night
Without you here holding me tight
I cry myself to sleep too much
I miss the feel of your gentle touch.

Letting you go was the hardest part
It felt like my heart was being ripped apart
But I couldnt go on the way things were
Things were so bad, there was no cure.

So I walked away without looking back
The power to fix things was what I lacked
I saw you cry as I walked away
But in this life I couldnt stay.

I wanted to make it all go away
I wanted to be able to smile and say
"No matter what happens, Ill stay by your side"
But the pain that I felt I could no longer hide.

Losing you was the like a knife to my heart
But I couldnt stand by as you tore me apart
So I said good bye and I walked away
You'll never understand how much I wanted to stay.
