The Secret I Keep

by Twisted Heart   Feb 21, 2007

We pass each other almost every day
Not once do I stop to speak
I get so scared that you'll find a way
To uncover the secret I keep.

I don't even smile, for I'm sure you will see
The love I hold deep in my eyes
Will it be a look that will tell the tale
Or a smile that covers the lie

I try to avoid you, I turn from your way
For too many nights I dream of you
By not making contact with your lovely eyes
I can still hope you haven't a clue.

I see you with friends, you laugh at a joke
The sound of it makes my heart race
But I still leave alone, at the end of the day
With the trueth that I find hard to face.

You seem so content with your life as it is
Filled with women and all of their charm
But each night as I lay in my lonely bed
I dream I am laying inside of your arms.

But dreams are so lonely, I find no release
And the hope of a love that will last
Breaks free from the dreams at the light of a day
And moves from my mind way too fast.

So I go through the day with glances of you
And the knowlege of all, I don't speak
I find comfort in this for the end of the day
Will cover the secret I keep.
