Wish Upon a Scar

by Wings Of Flames   Feb 21, 2007

The hill tumbles up so high,
And the grass sways in mourn,
The sky is dusted black and Grey,
As tears shall break the dawn,

Birds have been silenced,
Lakes frozen cold,
The breeze whispers softly,
As the young turn to old,

Goodnight dearest friends,
As God puts you all to sleep,
Standing among the willows,
As the droplets start to seep,

Your oak casket creaks,
As they lower it to your tomb,
Bouquets of roses upon your heart,
As your death becomes my doom,

Family turn to leave,
Friends do the same,
I stand alone and know,
I have never done you shame,

'Alone again,' I whisper,
'Like we always used to be.
Why didn't you come to talk?
Why didn't I ever see?'

I choke upon each breath,
And splutter the words to you,
'Please be happy now,
Cause now I don't know what to do.'

I blink and stars fall,
"One wish," I cry,
"It's been granted.
Why did you have to die?"
