Park Of Memories

by Amber   Feb 21, 2007

Walking along the path,
Through this memory filled park,
Looking at the trees,
I find our initials in the bark,

As I run my fingers over the carving,
A tear forms in my eye,
Memories flash through my head,
Of when you said good-bye

Underneath our initials,
Is carved the word forever,
But I never knew,
That out love would ever sever,

As I go on my way,
I walk past the swings,
I remember when you pushed me,
Up and down as i would sing,

I sat upon the very swing,
That you pushed me on that night,
I look over to see the bench,
We sat on when we had the fight,

I walk over to the bench,
And I sit down to think,
I see your initials beside hers,
Written in black ink,

I bursted out into tears,
As I ran back through the park,
I stop to see you there with her,
Carving your initials in the bark,

I stopped for just a second,
And you glanced at me,
You Turned right back around,
And I dropped to my knees,

I cried out loud so you could hear,
But all you did was laugh,
You held her to your side,
As you walked down the path,

I walked over to the tree,
I took a knife to the bark,
I carved till my hand was sore,
"I Will Always Love You Clark"

I walked home in tears,
I went straight up to my room,
No one had a single clue,
That my death was coming soon,

I went into my dads drawer,
And stole his trusty gun,
It wouldn't let me down,
This suicide will be done,

I went back upstairs,
And I looked into the mirror,
I started to cry,
Knowing my death was nearer,

The next day he was walking,
Through the park,
He went over to the tree,
And noticed the new mark,

He began to cry,
As his fingers ran over the bark,
He read those loving words,
"I Will Always Love You Clark"

He took out his knife,
It started to get windy,
He carved the words,
" R.I.P I Love You Cyndi"

The same thing happened,
That night he was found dead,
It was suicide,
A gun shot to the head,

They were buried,
Next to each other,
For everyone felt,
They were meant for one another,

And on the tombs,
Is a painted on picture of the tree,
Where there love first started,
And to their love the key.

Very sad poem. Yet, well expressed. Sometimes when people try to express powerful emotions they over-do it, but I believe you did it very well. Great work,
