Dear Self,

by rachyBBY   Feb 22, 2007

I'll keep it a secret, but you have to, too
But I want you to understand, he's not good for you
Butterflies in the tummy, pain in the heart
You knew it was bad right from the start

You say that you loved him, and that you still do
Oblivious to things, like you haven't a clue
You know what he's doing, and pretend not to see
What a huge mistake this is turning out to be

You easily forgive, but never forget
Sometimes you wish you'd never even met
I don't understand what's gotten into you
Thinking of him, just out of the blue

You've fallen for his tricks many times
Believing all his thought out, stupid lines
He knows all the perfect things to say
To win your heart, day after day

You want to get over him but are too blind to see
The importance of it all whenever he deceives.
You'll keep giving him chances so he thinks it's okay
To do what he does, and treat you this way

You don't understand what this is doing to you
But you say it's your life and you'll do as you choose.
You ignore all the advice that's been thrown your way
Thinking that they have nothing important to say

But really, they have your best interests at heart
And they never want to see you fall apart.
But you don't wanna let go for fear of being alone
You say nobody's words matter, except for your own

I just want you to be aware of what he's doing to you
How his actions are the cause of all the crying you do
I want you to get over him and quickly move on
So he'll stop breaking your heart, and forever be gone.
