The Traumatic Death of Heidi Myers

by Sorefromreality   Feb 22, 2007

Friends gather round, to pay their respects
everyone near, is a murder suspect
who killed Heidi Myers, and why did she have to die?
These questions hang loose in the air, and mourners start to cry

lowered into the cold, hard ground
no one knowing the killer would never be found
her mother walking away, can't stand the sight
Trying not to remember that horrific night.

An absent father looming in some people's minds
Two sisters look up knowing it was not her time
The coffin is buried, deep below the earth
That decaying teenager will never know her worth

A few days before, she was falsely smiling at home
But the sad truth is, she was always there alone
With her mind to keep her company, she soon sought refuge in razors
Her mother was oblivious, therefore could not save her

And one lonely night, alone again
She started to push the razor in
But this time her skin....was a little too thin

Her mother found her dead, when she arrived home that night
She tried to revive her dying daughter, but life was out of sight
Her child lay dead, in her shaking arms
With a final razor near her, her sacred little charm

Why didn't anyone see the pain in Heidi's eyes?
It was not another person that caused her to die
Don't try to solve a mystery, that isn't even there
Stop pretending you love her now,
Because it's too late to care

Well.....I think the actiual poem was incredible. The first several verses especially. But the last few lost me. They didnt seem to relate with the previus portion of the poem. It was like reading 2 different books.

The story behind this is really deep. This is one of your best poems most definately. The flow was smoothe, and the rhyming was good, the only thing that put me off was the three lined stanza, but that's nothing really. The end was very strong and so true. I bet so many people do the same thing when someone close dies to them and it's the same sitation. Excellent poem! I wish I could give it more than a 5/5 because it's so worth more.

    Much love,
    Tammie xo

Even tho this stanza didn't rhyme, I just love it because it's so true. A great poem, exactly how my ppl feel.
