Eternal Love

by Britney   Feb 23, 2007

The way you smile at me makes me wonder,
Do you keep any secrets from me?
Are you honest with me all the time?
A few white lies here and there
to keep my hurt feelings kept hidden,
in that little locked up chest I have,
deep inside me are most likely there.

I gaze into your eyes
wondering where they will lead me.
Down a long winding road that I was meant to go down?
Or a road covered in leaves that keep hidden in the roots
All the lies and made up stories.

I hold you close
Hoping that no matter what
I do not let go.
For me to cry in front of you would be no crime,
But for me to let go of the only person who makes me feel safe,
Even when I stick up for him,
Well that would be impossible,
Because although it is my own will power keeping my fingers interlocked
Around your waist, it is you who gives me that power.

I kiss you with your soft lips,
And it makes time as though stop for an eternity,
And as long as my lips are touching yours,
They are forever sealed with a kiss.

I hold your hand to only make sure you
NEVER
Leave my side,
For no other person but me will love you the way I do.
My small hand [compared to yours] curled up in yours reminds me of the times
We used to share together and make life better than it really was.
Troublesome households felt so far away from what we had.
Some call what we have bliss,
But in our world of hugging, kissing, gazing into each others eyes,
And holding hands, we call it pure luck and love.
