Dream

We were dancing,
Without a care in the world.
We were having fun,
Just being ourselves.
We went to parties,
We watched the sun set.
We drank lemonade,
under a shady tree,
talking about anything and everything.
But then I woke up,
and realized with agonizing defeat,
it was a dream,
and I cried.
Knowing that would never be,
you and me,
It was only
a dream.
