Rather You

by ntv650   Feb 23, 2007

Rather be with you right now,
Than searching to find a place;
where faintest outlines suggest,
and voices like yours are enough
To remind me of the memories I've left.

Rather be out running,
Than wondering where else to be.
When you possibly are sitting at home,
Not waiting on, but thinking of me.
Why then, does my running not satisfy me?

Perhaps there's no lie,
When tears well in these eyes at our sight
When blood is pumped harder by my heart,
Maybe they are saying there's no lie
That time I've lost is time apart.

So say that it may be soon,
Your touch is not my imagination,
That we kiss the next time I want
Instead of hollowness from letting go
May it be that I can have you to hold

And though words fade,
they'll be replaced by us together,
By the first kiss of morning, last of night.
If chance decides we should live that way,-

I will never hurt you
And I will love you the most.

That was a great poem. I loved it. It was smooth and transferred from one stanza to the next with ease.
