Tomorrow was Never Promised

by Gregory W Golden   Feb 23, 2007

Dear Lord
Each day I rise and
I realize that
You put sunshine on my face
You put food on my table
You put clothes on my back
I count my blessings, because
You can turn a heart of stone
Into a heart a gold
I am a sparrow and
Like an arrow
Aiming toward
a spiritual world
Yes, Lord
You know
How to use me
Again, I am so grateful and
I just want to
Thank you
For my brief
Presence here on earth
Every breath I take and
Every move I shall make
Derives from your divine grace
I am a rock and
I shall not be moved
You bring me
Inner peace and
You bring me sweet joy
Faith spirit and soul
Drift in the air like
A parade of dandelions
You provide infinite wisdom to my soul
Allowing me to appreciate
Life, as I run like a swift gazelle
Fading to a distant star because
Tomorrow was never promised

I don't see how something that doesn't exist can provide you with the will to live Life.....when all you need is confidence. 'HE' doesn't do that for you.
Good poem though, I will say. Good choice of words.
