My sweet, darling boy
Why are my thoughts still all about you?
Do you ever think about me at all anymore?
Are you sorry for the pain we put each other through?

My sweet, darling boy
Why can I not erase your face from my mind?
Why did we hurt each other so terribly?
How did we manage to fall so far behind?

My sweet, darling boy
Why did we tell such expensive lies?
I'm pretending I have moved on
Yet at night I still silently cry.

My sweet, darling boy
How could we have made so many mistakes?
This loneliness is slowly killing me inside
I'm not sure how much more pain I can take.

My sweet, darling boy
Why didn't you stay?
Never know what loneliness was
Until the day you went away.

    This poem is absolutely amazing and for me the words are all to true. My very first love lasted about 5 years and every line of this poem seemed to bring back a memory. The words were so perfect and the meaning is brilliant - amazing job 5/5
