That Was You

In my past relationships I was the one to always get hurt.
I treated them like angels and in return I was treated like dirt.
I always dreamed about an angel that had the most perfect smile.
And I prayed to god that one day I'd get that angel, and I waited for awhile.

I started to give up but then you came along.
You brought me happiness something I lacked for so long.
Now that I got my angel I've got all I need.
I don't feel pain anymore and it's gotten easier to breathe.

I used to be on a path that led to all this pain.
But now I'm on the right path and everything is clear and easier to understand.
I saw so many signs but never took the time to notice what was in front of me.
There was so much going on inside me you just couldn't believe.

You bring out the best in me and you put this smile on my face.
You give me the energy to go on everyday all my time with you id love to waste.
I waited all my life for love as true as this.
And I've never felt like this before god gave me such an incredible gift.

And where I'm at right now I've never been before.
And for the first time in awhile my heart is complete and no longer sore.
My prayers to god finally came true.
Cause the man up in the sky finally gave me my angel and that was you.
