Letter to a friend

by Naerwen   Feb 23, 2007

I wrote my sos note to you my beloved,
In invisible ink - so i guess its no surprise,
You couldn't read the distress,
The illustrated pleas get washed away,
With the detailed concern inscribed,
Trying to tell you - but i guess,
Sometimes it is ok to be misread,
But i found my letter to you,
The paper seal unbroken,
A lump in my constricted throat,
Should i really cry right now,
i guess i expected this to happen,
Though i hoped you would know,
What i tried to tell you,
But no one wants to hear a tale,
Already heard before - no one needs a journal,
Of problems they can't solve,
i feel like a ghost waiting for her presence,
To be acknowledged,
Oh i try to think how i could,
Make myself appear to you,
But it all depends on who your with,
What i say gets lost in translation,
And i know now which angle you stand,
Really i should be happy for your smile,
Stop complaining you never return my calls,
Nobody has to read the memo,
So i'll fold up my letter to you,
Written in transparent ink,
Open my desk drawer and slip it inside,
Close it and forget the veiled emotion.
