Predator, Prey

by Shatter   Feb 24, 2007

A blossoming stain
Ever so red
A sign of death
A sign of dread

A silent Predator
Stalking its Prey
It's intentions are hidden
For each passing day
Until it gives into the impulse
No longer silent
Now baring its teeth
Its motives revealed
The monster is unleashed

The Prey finally sees
The true monster within
No turning back
No chance to win
So Prey asks what do you do?
When you can't do anything at all?
Should I fight to survive?
Even though I will fall?

Then the fight
Finally begins
Predator is deadly
But Prey won't give in
Fighting back
Against claws and teeth
Prey acts unafraid
Of its own defeat

Predator finally
Brings on death
Prey kept fighting
For his dying breath
Predator was surprised
Prey wasn't what he'd expect
As Prey was dying
He went with respect

A stain blossomed
A beautiful red
Another sign
Of a fighter dead
