Who are you?

by Auntie Tay   Feb 25, 2007

You asked me once,
A long time ago,
"Who are you?"
Well, I finally have the answer.

I am the books I read,
The poems I write.
I am the music I hear,
The beauty I see.

I am the mouse,
Chased by the cat.
I am the cat,
Chasing the mouse.

I am your sweetest dream,
Full of the flowers of spring.
I am your worst nightmare,
Full of the fires of hell.

I am the summer rains,
That quench the thirst of the earth.
I am the winter snow,
That freezes the beauty of it all.

I am the person you see,
Blond hair, brown eyes.
And the person you don't,
The one behind the eyes.

I am me,
Plain and simple.
