Figure of Speech

by Michael D Nalley   Feb 27, 2007

Ever tried to weigh your thought
Of what is right, or what is not?
Repeating a figure of speech
Understanding within reach

In your mind you may figure
Creation is not much bigger
Than the things you may observe
With the knowledge you conserve

The images figured are realized
When your dreams are visualized
With the passion you have recovered
A new truth can often be discovered

A figure of speech is sometimes heard
Without wisdom of the phrase or word
The meaning is then diluted or lost
Figuratively speaking at a cost

Wow.. haha I don't think i've read a poem about that before. I really enjoyed it. Your word choice was very good. The flow and rhymes were both lovely. I think you did a really great job writing this. Keep it up!
