These Words

by Lithium   Feb 27, 2007

Your lips turn to dust,
Upon my sullen cheek,
Your hand begins to quiver,
Your eyes, they no longer seek,

With a twitch of your hand,
And a flick of the fingers fair,
I'm given a ring of eternal love,
Welcoming something rare,

A chance has been given for my heart to beat again,
Gasping for an air I have not breathed before,
You raised my soul from the grave it once came,
And kiss my tender lips, while asking for more,

As a darkened rose I begin to blossom,
And the thorns in my mind begin to fade away,
My skin no longer bleeds for my mistakes,
But only runs to catch each day,

My fingers fit finely in-between your hand,
Our hands are wrapped around each others hearts,
Capable of anything, to love or to break,
But in truth we shall never depart,

The blessed sun shines down on us,
Bringing us wishes of love to use,
Guiding us each day to follow,
The words of I love you.

Dedicated to Scott Clarke, I love you.
