God bless ....little sister.

My dad walked down the path.
With a tear in his eye.
Explained to me and my sister,
That little Rachel was going to die.

I didn't know what to say.
Except hold my dad and cry.
We went straight to the hospital,
To say our last goodbye.

She had caught a rare infection.
There was nothing they could do.
She was born three months to soon.
No more could we put her through.

I saw my mum in the distance.
My legs began to shake.
What words could i speak?
To heal this heartbreak.

A tear ran down her face.
She said it would be okay.
That we shall meet again.
Up in heaven someday.

Ive never felt such love.
As my sister lay nearby.
With a pink knitted bonnet.
Its time to say goodbye.

I reached over her crib.
And held her hand so tight.
"Sleep well my angel",
Farewell and goodnight.

I held the tears back.
To be strong for my mum.
When all i needed to do ,
Was get it out my system

The angels came to collect her
And take her to god above.
Where she will be protected
And given all the love.

She was taken for a reason.
Even though i question why.
I'm just glad i had the chance
To kiss my sister goodbye. x
