Change; For the Better

by Kurt   Feb 28, 2007

I lower my eyes
Admit to defeat
For I stand alone
Against legions of deceit

The banner of truth
Cannot hold out alone
With only one defender
Carrying a sling and a stone

The spot of light flickers
Surrounded by a misty haze
All around the truthful
The damned souls gaze

The world abandoned hope
Gave up on the truth
Shielded themselves with lies
And corrupted their youth

So here I stand today
Asking you to see
That if you take a chance
You, too, could be free

And though we may die
Overrun in the end
We shall die as martyrs
Whose choice was to defend

Let the story be sung
How one boy. One girl
Stood up together
And attempted to change the world

I loved this poem, it made me want to cry.. but, I smiled instead. People like that are what make this life worth living,e h.

The description, emotion and flow was incredible, and it almost had a rhythm to it.
The ending was great, just as usual.

    Great job, hun
    keep it up.

This is a great poem, it has a fabulous story behind it. Althought he flow was a tad off in some spots, I still give it a 5/5.
