The Last Poem I Will Ever Write For Her

The Last Poem I Will Ever Write For Her

Collecting all the things we once had
Material possessions and faded memories
The pictures are torn down the middle
And thrown into an open fire to burn

There, I saw your face in the fireplace
As it melted to the touch of the flames
I smile to myself as your body deforms
When the photographic paper crumples up

You've got those cursed tasteless lips
That chapped to the touch of a real kiss
But you will never break out of that spell
You will remain forever in a land of lust

When you look back on regrets, I'll wave
You'll be a stranger and I'll be a memory
Forever lost, forever forgotten, vanished
The boy you once loved, the one you let go

Last night I wrote a poem for you princess
I left it under your pillow while you slept
I coated it in tears and signed it in blood
For the girl I once loved, but loved another

I waved goodbye to you in pretty pictures
As my back turns to your face I walk away
The same pace you did but my head held high
This is the last poem I will write for you
