Roadside Mayhem

Roadside Mayhem
By: Twisted Heart

- under the hood
- lube job
- tire plug
- hot wheels
- little red corvette

I was cruising down the highway
In my old pink Cadillac
The top was down and the wind
Was blowing my hair back

I was listening to a hip hop tune
And swaying to the beat
When on the shoulder of the road
Was a car in front of me.

THE HOOD was up and as I passed
I saw a LITTLE man
His feet were lifted off the ground
As he studied the engine span.

I parked my car on the shoulder
In front of his RED CORVETTE
I was going to offer assistance
Not knowing what was needed yet.

He popped his head out from UNDER
His face looked red and HOT
A sheepish grin aligned his mouth
When he said, "Thanks a lot",

"It's such a JOB to find the problem
Inside the engine span
When you see the nuts and bolts
Amid st the gears and cam."

I told him I would be no help
It was all Greek to me
[I didn't know the difference
Between a TIRE and a LUBE, you see].

He said, it was the stopping
That made the trip worth while
And then he pulled a gun out of
The place he kept his tire.

He PLUGged the gun into my back
And shoved me off the road
And told me that I'd better stay
And then He turned to go.

My look of pure bewilderment
Is one I won't forget
He drove off in my Cadillac
And left me by his 'vette.

I know you won't believe this
But my luck is up to par
It seems his "WHEELS" were hotter
Than the day He stole my car.

This is cool-especially since it was a challenge. I like the song references(Prince's Little Red Corvette & Bruce Springsteen's Pink Cadillac). This was well done and amusing.
