Are You There Amy?

by xFadedxForeverx   Mar 2, 2007

My sisters name was Amy.
She was only 14.
She was always smiling.
She was enjoying being a teen.

She was very sick.
I remember it all.
Just that she was always really weak.
And would always fall.

She went to chemo a lot.
Shed come home each time weak.
She would go to bed.
Did not say hello or even speak.

She had lost all her hair,
She cried every night.
I just dont understand,
Why she gave up the fight.

She died last week.
Mommy did not cry.
I did not understand,
Why my sister had to die.

They say shes in heaven.
Smiling down at me.
They said the cancer isnt there.
And that she is free.

Every night before bed.
I stay up and wait.
I picture her,
Leaning at heavens gate.

Are you there Amy?
Its your sister.
She never answers,
I need her to know I miss her.

I hope I can visit her,
And hug her tight.
I hope that shes happy.
And that shes alright.

Even though shes safe,
I worry for her still.
Now I have a hole in my heart,
That I just cant fill.

Wow, this is very powerful. It remains strong throughout the entire piece, despite the length. Its a touchy topic, but you pulled it off. great job
