Sandy Shores

by Jenni Marie   Mar 2, 2007

Sand soft beneath my feet
Wind blowing gently in my ears
As I race across this sandy shore
There's nothing left to fear.

Sea shimmers in the distance
Stars twinkle in darkening sky
Surrounded by so much beauty
Just want to sit down and cry.

Sand slips between my toes
Clouds start to appear
Lifting my face to the heavens
Don't want to be anywhere but here.

Rain cascades down my skin
Droplets appear on my face
So much beauty around me
Never want to leave this place.

Staring into the distance
Seeing water being spat up high
Knowing the Orca's are under there
While seagulls circle the sky.

Dipping my toes into the water
The sea soothing my tired soul
Out here surrounded by nature
I'm finally starting to feel whole.

This was such a wonderful poem and it had such pleasant imagery. I could feel myself in the place described in your poems. May the muses always be with you. *5/5*
