Today, during class, we were talking about religion. Some kid asked someone else whether they were religious. The other kid nodded and said, "Yeah, I'm Wiccan." The first kid shook his head and said, "That's not what I meant." That is when I entered the conversation. "When you're asking someone whether or not they're religious, you're not asking them if they have a religion, you're asking them if they are Christian." As they contemplated that, I thought to myself. Really, water is still water, whether it is water or ice or steam. In the same way, wood is still wood, whether it is firewood or furniture or trees. So why can't gods be one and the same, whether it is Christ or Buddha or the many gods and goddesses of pagan religions like Hinduism and Wicca? We all believe in something, so what is the point in calling them something different? We shouldn't put people down for their religion, or what they believe in. After all, when it all boils down, no matter who or what we believe in, we are all sailing in the same boat through life...
~~I don't know...food for thought, I guess. It was a very in-depth conversation, with a lot of screaming, fist-shaking, and the like~~
