Just A Baby Girl

by lexie   Mar 4, 2007

She's so strong,
She hides it all to well,
Just a baby girl inside,
She'll smile for the world.

But when the city fades,
She'll cry herself to sleep,
As her body shakes,
Don't let them hear you weep.

Keep strong,hold on,
Your world falls apart everyday,
But no one knows,
She'll never let go.

Can't let them know,
Just one more day,
Oh God,please give strength,
To this desperate young woman.

So lost in the world,
Not knowing where to go,
Who to run to,
When there's no one there.

Baby girl be strong,
Just keep holding on,
Make it one more day,
That sun will shine someday.

how this poem reminded me of this book- warriors don't cry--melba patillo beals. she was one of the little rock nine. the book is sad but really good. maybe you should check it out.
