In A World Without Rhyme

by RainbowSlider   Mar 4, 2007

In a world without rhyme
I just existed in my prime.
I felt like such a mime
for I was biding my time.

In a world without verse
I always would rehearse.
There was just commerce.
I felt like I would burst.

In a world without thought
as a gilded bird I was caught.
I tried to do what I was taught.
but everything was so taut.

With poetry I was reborn-ed.
Today, I don't feel forlorn.
Like a letter that was purloined
the human race I have joined.

I have gained back my sight
for I have came into the light.
I am not afraid of the night.
Everything will be alright.
