Grief

by Saige   Mar 5, 2007

It's the pain of losing something dear...
It can rip out one's heart in a single beat
only to hold the still beating heart before the victim's eyes
It's what brings a tear to your eye.
It overwhelms with so many emotions
with so every force imaginable pounding against weakened faculties.
Dark ideas float around a sorrowful mind.
Dark temptations of spreading the disease...
of spreading the pain...
burning away at the soul to those who don't understand.
Everyone is its victim.
No one can escape its fury.
It comes unexpected
In times of joy and happiness
Hindering one's dreams
but never completely destroying its victim.
Grief is a slow and painful wound...
a slow death of the soul.
