Hand in hand (poem or song?)

Every night, I go to sleep with tears in my eyes.
And I wonder why I try to do what's right
When the world seems to only do wrong.
My God, must I always stand alone?

Hold my hand through the long dark.
Your touch quells all my fears and doubts.
Though I stumble you lift me up, and give me strength where I had none.
When all words fail we'll walk, and walk, and walk till we find the end of dark.

Kiss me God and bless me till the dawn.
Help me bring warmth back to my heart.
I see perfect grace through your eyes.
Though I suffer I know now it makes me strong.

I will never forget walking alone.
Nor the Lord who showed me I was wrong.
A whispered prayer, a broken cry is all you needed to find my side.
When dawn breaks and this life ends,
I will gladly walk with you hand in hand.

    I really, really liked this. I think it is more befitting as a poem rather than a song. This was a very emotional piece, and I love who you pieced it together and the words you used to do this.     Wow, such a powerful poem/song. The meaning that lies within is so deep and greatly portrayed. This was oustandingly written, I give props to for writting such a meaningful poem with such emotions that linger within.
