The Rose

by Cassandra   Mar 5, 2007

In the Dark of the night
your long stem stands tall
a lover's quarrel and fight
you don't quiver you don't fall
you represent love
and many other things
a feeling from above
is what you bring.
With petals like velvet
almost as soft as her skin
it could just be painful to let
your beauty sink in.
you grew from a seed
so fragile and bare
could you only need
some tender loving care
a day full of sunshine
and some H2O
if only to be thine
the everlasting love you grow.
your smile is like a fragrance
enchanting the room
a smell of complete innocence
as you bloom in my perfume.
Now you stand all alone
in a vase or a jar
your sharp hidden thorns have grown
disasters not that far.
the lovers enter the room
and on by one your petals stat to fall
you were once so beautifully in bloom
blood red and standing so tall.
You simply mean I love you.
but you've withered to the ground.
the lovers were untrue
and now your meaning is un-found.
