Memories

A scene replayed right in my head
Some seem to last while others fade
Reflections with a tinge of twist
Of broken hearts or the first kiss

Be it the girl who ran away
Or the father would wouldn't stay
They mirror your own quiet past
Even in terms of lies and lust

Most seem to be of lessons learnt
While others we never seem to
A few outshine a few we burn
Like poems in my billet-doux

Many words can't depict them clear
A pen can only write so much
Vocabs can portray one's true fear
Nor can they describe your first touch

Memories linger to remind
The past is what we leave behind
To move ahead on each new day
So say the words you want to say

Of love, hate and happiness too
They spur you in reality
Whether in love or feeling blue
All will be but a memory
